Terms and Conditions


General

  1. All prices are for one hire only which constitutes a period of 48 hours or Friday to Monday.
  2. The Hirer or Hirer’s Agent is responsible for any loss or damage to goods including any packaging supplied, from the time the goods are delivered to, or collected by, the Hirer’s agent until collected by, or returned to Stratton Catering Equipment Hire.
  3. Any such loss or damage will be charged at current cost. Customers' goods cannot be accepted as replacement.
  4. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the equipment whilst on hire is fully covered by his/her own insurance (“New for Old”) with regard to loss, theft, damage and public liability risks etc.
  5. The Hirer undertakes to ensure that no-one uses the equipment who is not instructed in its safe and proper operation and to ensure that every user is in possession of instructional material (if any) supplied by Stratton Catering Equipment Hire and will not allow equipment to be misused.
  6. Deliveries to third parties or unoccupied premises are made entirely at Hirer’s risk.

Delivery and Collection

A charge will be made for this service according to distance travelled from our depot to site, however, additional charges may be made for:

  1. Sitting of larger orders, and/or heavy/large items such as ovens/furniture, where additional delivery staff and/or time is required on site due to difficult or restricted access. Please advise us in advance of site situations and details so that we may deliver and position equipment correctly.
  2. Orders or part orders not ready for collection at the agreed time may incur extra hire and collection charges.
  3. Unless prior arrangements have been made our charges allow for unloading and loading from alongside our vehicle. They also assume that the goods will be packed and ready for collection from alongside the vehicle.
  4. Deliveries are from hard standing to main door, ground level entrance unless prearranged. Vehicle access to marquee/service tents must be adequately provided for, particularly in wet weather. Large items, in particular, catering ovens, require level access and a width of at least 34” (87cm). Please check your site situation when ordering and advise accordingly.
  5. The Hirer is responsible for checking goods upon delivery and shall notify Stratton Catering Equipment Hire immediately of any discrepancies. Complaints made after return of goods will not be considered.
  6. Linen requires careful handling. It is susceptible to burns from cigarettes, candles or candle wax and if packed away wet it can become completely ruined by mildew. Burnt, mildewed, torn or heavily stained cloths will be charged for at full replacement cost.
  7. All goods and packaging supplied remain the property of Stratton Catering Equipment Hire.
  8. All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT.

Shortages

Shortages will be invoiced separately.  Any losses/damaged items will be charged for at full replacement cost after your order has been checked in at our premises.  Substitute items will not be accepted.  Lost items subsequently found will be credited accordingly, however further hire, and if required, collection charges may apply.

It is a condition of supply that in the absence of definite proof to the contrary, our count at our premises is final as to both quantity and condition of the goods.

Cleaning

For orders returned dirty, a cleaning charge will be levied at 25% of the hire rate. N.B. All linen ware hire prices including laundering.

Payment

A 30% desposit is due on confirmation of order, if booking is made more than 30 days before the function, full balance due a month  prior to the function.  If event is within 30 days of booking full payment is due.   Any deposit is non refundable, in the event of cancellation with less than a month prior to the function any payments made are non refundable.  In the event of a trade account which has been previously authorised by Stratton Catering Equipment Hire the terms are payment is due 7 days after the function. We accept all major credit/debit cards and at the time of booking we will take the card details, in case of any loss or breakages which will be debited from the card, if this is the case and a receipt sent to the customer.

Purchases

Title of goods shall only pass to the buyer when payment for such goods is received in full, within the agreed trading terms by Stratton Catering Equipment Hire.

This list cancels all previous lists.  Prices/Terms may change without prior notification.
